How much should I charge for making hand-made signs?

Need to make about 10 lines of hand-drawn typography on 2 dozens 24x36 poster boards. Should I charge by the hour or by volume?

1. By the hour, that's going to take a long time. Er, how about like 3-5 dollars an hour? I'm not sure.
2. By the hour. But three to five dollars per hour is hardly worth the time. If you are a good calligrapher, you can work relatively quickly. If you are a talented beginner, you should be working for less than twenty to twenty-five dollars an hour.
